Videos below showing flooding in historic Grafton, Vermont. The Flooding was caused by heavy rains produced by tropical storm Irene as the powerful remnants of the one-time hurricane traveled north through New England during Sunday, August 28, 2011.
The video was taken by and is courtesy of Bryce LeVan Cushing. My sincere thanks to Bryce for sharing this incredible footage. -Alan Sexton
Update 8/29/2011: Bryce has added numerous additional videos of the damage resulting from Irene, which can be viewed on his YouTube channel.

Having a big wedding at the Old Grafton Inn in October. Is the water that high?
Thank you for providing this footage..we were unable to make it to our house in town and were wondering about the extent of damage. Absolutely devastating.
Thanks for sharing this. Trying to find out how the houses on Chester Hill Road fared. Last video I saw showed river flooding street in front of Barrett/Historical Society’s little red building and nipping at the corner of the old Fire Station. Houses across the river were ok at that point. Trying to find out if river breached higher (probably!) and if it hit the the back of the houses on the other side of the river, facing Chester Road – the little red barn, etc. Like Jackie in post above, I can’t get to my Grafton home and am anxious to get any additional info. So grateful to the awesome FAST Squat for the work they are surely out doing right now. Thanks for your heroics, Guys/Gals. Wish I could be there now to help.
My son’s business (My Mind’s Design) is in the old Fire Station. I would love to see videos today after the water’s gone down. We still can’t get over there until the roads are open.
Thanks for keep us connected this way Bryce.
