For some time now, we have tolerated an increasingly socialistic system which on the one hand eagerly doles out meager public assistance, while on the other hand constantly generating ordinances, regulations, and laws which conspire to make it increasingly difficult or impossible for people to work their way off public assistance.

I contend that most people who are reliant upon public assistance for their existence are subsequently forced to Continue reading

“GOP Nominee to pivot towards the Center? Try a Hard Right Instead”

Douglas ErnstEvery election season pundits talk about the need to move to the center. What they don’t mention is that every four years the cultural center of the nation has moved leftward. In the tug-of-war for the heart and soul of the country, conservatives are told that if they walk toward their rivals they’ll somehow win the war. And then unconstitutional healthcare mandates are passed. Catholic organizations are essentially told they need to give the collection plate to the administrative assistant so she can buy birth control. 15 trillion dollars of debt can go through the ceiling, but the nation isn’t allowed to drill its own soil for oil…

Small Business Confidence in a Lull

Government reports seem upbeat, but Main Street is not so confident

WASHINGTON, D.C.– Rising just one tenth of one percent in January, the Small-Business Optimism Index settled at 93.9, a slight increase from the December 2011 reading, according to the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). When temporarily allowed, denial can serve as a protective and helpful coping mechanism and, when allowed to persist, denial can also become a dangerous crutch, inviting all manner of grave consequences — such as those now endangering our already much assailed constitutionally protected Natural Rights and liberties.

Staff of the prestigious Mayo Clinic find that denial “is a Continue reading

Black Conservatives Comment on Obama State of the Union Address

Washington, D.C. – Black conservatives affiliated with the Project 21 leadership network are unimpressed with President Barack Obama’s progress during his three years in office. They say Obama’s State of the Union address tonight long on rhetoric and short in presenting a strategy to fix the stagnant American economy that has not improved under his leadership.

“President Obama’s State of the Union address was no more than a reminder of the failures of his presidency. When given an opportunity to create an economy ‘built to last’ – by taking on Washington’s culture of fiscal irresponsibility, reining in an excessively regulatory administration and enacting true entitlement reform – he repeatedly pushed an agenda geared to push more debt on the backs of our children and grandchildren,” said Project 21 Spokesman Coby W. Dillard. “Instead of presenting true solutions to Congress, he repeatedly bypasses them with Continue reading
